Individual therapy
I work with adult and adolescent individuals looking to deepen self knowing, heal old wounds and come into a more fully expressed and at ease version of themselves. Sessions give you a dedicated container to be supported in working through whatever is most important to you, in service of your healing, integrating and shifting in the directions you seek, using a whole host of tools available to us.
I also work with children, using sand tray and expressive arts therapies.

RELATIONSHIP & FAMILY THERAPY
For couples or any other relationship of two or more, looking for help getting unstuck from negative relational cycles and/or increasing intimacy and connection. My scholarly research focused on infant development, and I do have a special interest in supporting families expecting a child / children and new parents as they navigate the wild terrain of stepping into caregiving & parenting roles. I primarily use techniques from Sue Johnson’s empirically validated Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Strategic Family Therapy, and Sand Tray therapy, all informed by my somatic foundation. We will work towards:
~ Tracking relational patterns
~ Identifying underlying primary emotions and related triggers
~ For parents: learning and practicing how to attend to infant and young children cues and needs
~ Increasing mutual understanding and emotional attunement
~ Cultivating connection and exploring ways of increasing secure attachment (within adult relationships and between parents and children)

I see clients in-person in my SE Portland office, and via telehealth when necessary due to access issues. I have found that this work works best when we can be together in-person, so I encourage clients to attend sessions in the office whenever possible, while remaining flexible and supportive when remote sessions are needed.
